Three GERPHOS Flame Retardants Now Listed in the OEKO-TEX® ACP List

Three GERPHOS flame retardants—GERPHOS 8815-10, GERPHOS 8815-16 and GERPHOS 8815-199—are now listed in the OEKO-TEX® list of accepted Active Chemical Products (ACP), supporting demanding applications across technical textiles, coated fabrics and artificial leather.

GERPHOS 8815-10, GERPHOS 8815-16 and GERPHOS 8815-199 have been included in the OEKO-TEX® list of accepted Active Chemical Products (ACP), supporting manufacturers developing flame-retardant textiles, artificial leather, coated fabrics and other demanding material applications.

GULEC Chemicals is pleased to announce an important milestone for three products in its halogen- and antimony-free GERPHOS flame retardant portfolio.

GERPHOS 8815-10, GERPHOS 8815-16 and GERPHOS 8815-199 are now listed in the OEKO-TEX® list of accepted Active Chemical Products (ACP). This means that textiles and leather treated with these ACP-listed flame retardants remain eligible for certification to OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 or LEATHER STANDARD, subject to the applicable requirements and assessment of the finished article.

The listing gives textile manufacturers, product developers and procurement teams additional confidence when selecting flame retardant solutions for applications in which chemical compliance, material performance and certification eligibility must be considered together.

Three ACP-Listed Flame Retardants for Different Material Requirements

GERPHOS 8815-10: Strong Charring and Low Smoke Density

GERPHOS 8815-10 is an inorganic phosphate-based flame retardant suitable for PVC, polyurethane and acrylic systems. It supports high flame retardancy through strong charring behaviour while delivering the lowest smoke density during fire within this group of products.

Typical applications include PVC and PU artificial leather as well as PVC- or PU-based technical textiles.

GERPHOS 8815-16: High Flame Retardancy for Thin Applications

GERPHOS 8815-16 can be used in PVC, polyurethane and acrylic systems. Its strong charring behaviour enables high flame retardancy at low dosage levels, making it particularly suitable for thin or weight-sensitive applications.

Typical uses include PVC and PU leather, acrylic- or PU-based adhesive products, and other thin coated applications.

GERPHOS 8815-199: High Hydrolytic Stability for Demanding Environments

GERPHOS 8815-199 is suitable for PVC, polyurethane, acrylic and unsaturated polyester resin systems. It combines high flame protection with the highest hydrolytic stability within this group, supporting applications exposed to moisture, cleaning cycles or demanding service conditions.

Typical applications include PU medical bedcovers, unsaturated-polyester composite products and automotive OEM components.

Supporting Flame-Retardant Textile Development

The three ACP-listed GERPHOS flame retardants provide distinct performance profiles across coated fabrics, artificial leather, technical textiles, healthcare materials, composites and automotive applications.

GULEC works directly with manufacturers and R&D teams to identify the most suitable GERPHOS solution for each polymer system, processing method and required fire-performance target.
